Transparent Screen Ruler - Measure everything on your screen
This may be the shortest review you have ever read. Transparent Screen Ruler is exactly what it sounds like. If your work involves exact measures, this is the tool to use.
Even the installation process seems more complex than the actual tool. It's hard to believe that such a simple application is 5 Mb large with a 2 Mb installation kit. But there's nothing bad in all this. It's a ruler for the screen, what do you expect?
It may not be much, but a ruler you use on the desktop can come in very handy to some people. Launch the application and, surprise - surprise, a ruler will show up. You can stretch it from one end of the screen to another and you can use it horizontally or flip it to a vertical position. You can also set its measuring units to centimetres, inches, picas, pixels or your own custom measuring unit.
The ruler has a few helping features like a zoom window that helps you place the ruler exactly on the dot. That's about it.
Pros:
It it can be a very useful tool when designing a web page or something where you need to be precise about your measurements.
Cons:
Transparent Screen Ruler is a bit too simple. For almost 20 dollars it could have done a bit more like allowing you to place the ruler diagonally or by clicking and dragging. Moreover, a few extra measuring tools couldn't hurt either.
There is no easier way to accurately design a user interface or web page than actually taking a ruler to your screen. Transparent Screen Ruler lets you do that, without possibly damaging your monitor with a real ruler.
